When Fred Kaoud, Sr. founded the company in 1954, along with his
two brothers, he had a dream: to offer the finest values in oriental
rugs to the growing Connecticut marketplace. Over the years, the
company and the family has grown, along with its reputation of
offering only top quality merchandise at fair and honest pricing.
Our family is committed to excellence in every way. We import directly from the world’s leading weaving capitals on our own stationed looms. The finer the rug, the tighter the weave. What’s more, we specify the use of only the finest material: such as the quality of the wool and silk used. As for design, we’re sticklers for clarity on the front...and the back of each rug. Isam monitors our overseas looms and he always assures the finest quality wools, silks, dyes and weave. Our weavers know what we want and always strive to tend to the smallest of details. We pride ourselves on the honesty, service and integrity that we have come to be known for.
In Wilton, you’ll find both of our buildings side by side. Fred, Jr. in our Design Gallery building full of the most beautiful Custom rugs and Broadloom in a diverse selection of quality, colors, designs and sizes. Isam and Joanne are in the other building which is home to our private collection of semi-antique, antique and decorative carpets spanning in age from 30 to 200 years old.
